ANNA PETRAS

Anna is a Producer and owner of Newfound Films Inc. After producing a string of award-winning short films, advertising campaigns, and lifestyle programs, Anna produced her first feature film Down to the Dirt in 2007. The film was launched at the Marche du Cannes in 2008 and made its World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2008. It was released theatrically in six cities in Canada by Mongrel Media and screened at festivals around the world.

Through Newfound Films she is currently developing several feature films including “St. John’s West” and “Last Resort” with Kickham East Productions.

 

In addition to her production and writing work, Anna is Program Director at NIFCO (Newfoundland Independent Filmmakers Cooperative) where she manages the various film training classes, programs and all professional development initiatives and member services.

 

Anna is a dedicated advocate of the Film and TV industry and serves on the Board of the Producer’s Association of Newfoundland & Labrador (PANL) is an active board member

of the Newfoundland Independent Filmmakers Co-operative (NIFCO) and served on the board of the St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival for ten years. 

 

Originally from Toronto, Anna is now based in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.
